Are there any trees that do not have bark?

Bark is not a technical term. It simply refers to the outermost layer of woody plants. Since all trees are woody plants, all trees, by this definition, have bark. Typically, bark is composed of several different plant tissues: the cork cambrium, the phellum, and the phelloderm.
