A USDA organic label can tell you whether a food product is certified organic. However Quality Assurance International and Oregon Tilth have stricter certification requirements from what I understand. It is important to check the labels on your products to make sure that you are buying something that is truly certified eco-friendly and not just a greenwashed claim. Eco labels are different in different industries. For example: Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) will certify green lumber, but not clothing, food, or any other products.
