Yes, there are companies that have switched to using biodegradable packaging. For example, Frito-Lay has switched to using biodegradable packaging for their chips. Newman’s Own Organics and Wild Oats are two other companies that also use biodegradable packaging.
Yes, more and more electronics are now being packaged with biodegradable materials. On top of what Mire2187 said, they even have biodegradable packing peanuts now. They can be composted or dissolved in water!
When I was in college, our school cafeteria used a company called Sodexo to cater all our food and packaging. We had biodegradable plates and utensils, which helped to make our campus more environmentally friendly. Our cafeteria also had many designated recycling areas, which made recycling easy.
