There are homes that are built in such a way that severely decrease how much heat or cool air is needed to keep the home at a moderate temperature. At the very least, homes can now be built to store energy in a way that can be used from the home to heat and cool the house without using electricity from the grid. It would be difficult to keep a house at a perfectly temperate temperature at all times. It is, however, possible now to build homes that take in sunlight and can store it as energy to heat and cool the home as the owner sees fit.
