A: Yes. Currently, there are two very large centers, owned by two different companies. Petrosun Biofuels operates a 1,100 acre algae farm, where algae is propagated in order to produce experimental jet fuel, among other things; this facility is located near Harlington, Texas. Another company, Algenol, headquarters in Bonita Springs, Florida, has a 40-acre facility near Florida Gulf Coast University. Algenol also operates the world’s largest algae library, in Baltimore, Maryland.
