Are there any activist groups trying to stop the oil sands project?

Some Greenpeace members chained themselves to equipment in an oil sands mine in Alberta, Canada.  The protest lasted 30 hours, and no arrests were made.

Other activists from the Polaris Institute think tank designed a not-so-constructive game in which you spray oil at the Canadian Prime Minister and the opposition leader.

So there are indeed activists trying to stop oil sand mining!
