It seems that there are 100 watt CFL bulbs out there. For instance, you can purchase a Satco Screw-In CFL bulb ranging from 5 to 105 watts at globalindustry.com.
One important thing to keep in mind about CFL bulbs is that their light output is much greater than incandescent bulbs. So, if you are looking for something as bright as a 100-watt incandescent bulb, you’ll want a 23-watt fluorescent bulb. The secret to why fluorescent bulbs are brighter (and last longer) is that they waste less energy in the form of heat. If you put your hand near an incandescent bulb and a fluorescent bulb of the same brightness, you’ll notice the difference immediately.
