Under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Texas organic farmers can get up to $400 per acre for up to three years despite their farm sizes or their products grown. The price for subsidized fertilizer has increased, however, so that puts a burden on organic farmers. The sad news is that federal subsidies favor larger farms that are most often not organic ones.
