Are termite or ant colonies larger?

This seems to depend on the specific ant or termite species.  Dry wood termites have from a few hundred to about a thousand termite, while ground termites can have several million individuals in the colonies.

As far as ant colonies, specific numbers were not given, but it is reported that depending on the size of the ant, a colony could fit inside a capital O, or overflow a typical large outdoor garbage can.
