Are the tar balls that come to the beaches every now and then dangerous?

Don’t eat them or rub them on your skin or scatter them in fragile environments, and there is no real danger to a few tar balls. They occur naturally from natural underwater oil seeps, as well as from human-caused oil spills. Nature has been dealing with them for millions of years.
