Are sword fish bigger than marlin?

The largest swordfish caught on tackle (naturally growing, not in a fishery) is 247kg or about 545 pounds. The average fullgrown swordfish tends to be 200kg or 440lbs and under.

The Blue Marlin can grow up to nearly 2,000 pounds and are some of the largest fish in the world. The average full grown marlin is usually around 11 ft and between 200 and 400 pounds.

The averages of both of these fish are pretty similar. But, when it comes to which one will get the biggest naturally, the marlin takes it.
