Are sun spots responsible for global warming?

    Sunspot cycles show a strong correlation with global temperatures- increased sunspots correlate with increased temperatures. Pro-carbon dioxide researchers would argue that sun spots and solar flares are all that really predicate and dictate global temperatures and that carbon emissions have little to no effect.

    The 11-year sunspot cycle does affect short term climate; long term climate change has other primary causes. See the many previous answers
