Are stainless steel reusable water bottles better than plastic ones?

It depends…Lately we keep finding that all these different bottles leech certain chemicals into the water! The plastic ones you are referring to, I am assuming are the hard ones you often see hikers, athletes etc with, and not the one-time use bottles.

The hard plastic ones are made from a substance called Polycarbonate which is also used to make sungaless, CDs iPods etc. This plastic may leach a substance called BPA, a synthetic hormone that mimics estrogen and can increase one’s risk for certain cancers.

Stainless steel resuables are for the most part proven to have the least interaction with its contents, are more durable, and thus perhaps a better option.
