I own stainless steel cookware and have been very happy with them. I will say that some foods stick too much to the bottom of them (like dumplings), in which case, I’ll resort to using a teflon pan. I find, however, that stainless steel cookware lasts longer than other types of cookware so in that respect it is good for the environment – the less often you are throwing things away, the better it is for our landfills, and therefore, our environment. They also contain less harmful chemicals than teflon. Cast iron cookware is also supposed to be good. See the attached article for more information.
