The company won’t reveal what it’s made of (they said it’s made of a “rayon sort of material”), so we don’t know if it is biodegradable. Chances are it’s not.
If the ShamWow truly is made of a rayon-type material–and not just a material that is “like rayon” in quality, but is chemically different (the corporation that makes the ShamWow isn’t clear on this)–then yes, the ShamWow, like rayon in general, would be biodegradable.
In fact, Korean researchers found that rayon biodegrades more rapidly than cotton.
