Are seedless watermelons a result of genetically modifying regular watermelons?

    Seedless watermelons are not the result of genetic modification.

    Seedless watermelons are the result of cross-breeding plants with two sets of chromosomes and plants with four sets of chromosomes. The offspring plants have 3 sets of chromosomes. They have few or no seeds and are sterile.
