Some Sea Urchins are poisonous while some of them are harmless.Venomous sea urchins fall into one of three categories: long spined species which inject venom during a puncture; short spined species which either puncture or sting to inject venom, and finally species with pedicellaria which is thought to be among the most venomous. Pedicellaria resemble fangs and are capable of puncturing the skin and may be hard to remove… but one should remove the fangs as quickly as possible as they continue to release venom even after removed from the urchin.
