Are scientists really thinking of blocking out the sun to stop climate change?

At first I didn’t believe this question was even true, but after careful research I found that it was actually talked about at a climate panel. If we aren’t able to find any solutions to climate change and carbon emission levels in the atmosphere, one scientist suggested blocking out part of the sun. This would be done through a process that mimics the effects of volcanic sulfur in the atmosphere. This whole idea sounds crazy to me, and I really hope the planet doesn’t have to result to such an extreme measure one day.
