They are; sailfish are actually considered the fastest fish in the world. They can swim up 2,000 cm per second, whereas marlin can only get to 80-120 cm per second. That is quite a difference!
Marlin are second to sailfish for the title of the world’s fastest fish. Sailfish can reach top speeds of 68 mph, while marlins come close with a top speed of 50 mph. The citation link has a good table of the top ten fastest fish to further illustrate.
