Are rocks the oldest thing on earth?

The oldest conceivable part of our modern Earth would probably be its molten iron core. When the Earth first began to form 4.5 billion years ago, traces of iron that were spinning around collapsed to form the Earth’s center. After that, the planet was built on top of this iron core as more materials began to layer on top, creating the mantle and crust of the Earth.
