There are areas in Africa where the hunting of both rhinos and elephants is not prohibited by law (depending on the species of rhino or elephant). For example, in South Africa, the ban on white rhino trophy hunting was recently lifted due to a sufficient increase in the number of white rhinos. However, there is still a ban on the hunting of black rhinos, and any such hunt is considered poaching and is thus illegal.
Elephant hunting is allowed in certain countries like Botswana, South Africa, and Nambia. However, other nations forbid it (Kenya).
