Pulp made from bamboo can be used to make paper, and it uses less chemicals and energy than regular paper-making processes.
A patent was recently developed and published for making bamboo pulp into paper. First, the bamboo is stripped of its leaves, then cut into tiny pieces. The bamboo then goes through a water wash, to cleanse it of impurities. Later, either sulfuric acid or sulfur dioxide is added to make the bamboo into pulp. The resulting paper is of superior quality than regular paper.
