Yes, they are found in almost every state. They are not found in high elevation areas prevalent with mountains and in the Southwest.
This is the natural range of the raccoon (Procyon lotor). As you can see, raccoons are found in every state except Alaska and Hawaii (not shown). Raccoons were introduced to Alaska for hunting, but they are thought to have very small populations. Hawaii doesn’t have native raccoons either, and there is no threat of rabies in that state.
