Not surprisingly, propane burns are very painful. Liquid propane can cause cold burns, which can lead to massive skin damage, and even frostbite. If someone gets burned by propane, the best thing to do is move the victim to a warm area, but DO NOT apply heat to the burn (this will only cause more pain and damage to the injured area). Then, cover the burn with a dressing, and immerse it slowly into a tub of lukewarm water. This will relieve some of the pain, and be sure the injured person is consuming liquids during this time. Once the immediate needs have been addressed, call for medical assistance.
