Jet engines can carry more pounds than propeller engines, so there is that. From there, it depends on the altitude. Jet engines work better at higher altitudes with the thinner air that gives less resistance to the plane, and propellers work better lower because the thicker air allows the propellers more air to push for movement. Propeller planes can get off the ground in a shorter distance. Economically, there really isn’t a difference between the two since they really are pretty similar.
