In areas where strong winds and storms are more likely, standards for prefabricated homes are set higher to ensure safety. Prefab homes may sometimes be even stronger than typical site-built homes. Because they need to be transferred to sites, they’re structures are often built to withstand heavy damage. Essentially, prefab homes are built to safety standards, but any home – regardless of the type – is susceptible to natural disasters.
