I think it depends on how you use them. If you buy cheap plastic combs that break easily and wind up replacing them many times, then, yes! Definitely, they’re bad for the environment. They’re made of plastic, which comes from oil, which requires the oil industry–a pretty bad stress on the environment. I think having one that you use forever is a lot less harmful towards the environment…but you might be better off seeking one made of stone, bone, or wood for a more eco-friendly choice.
