Plants are on it too!
There are several species of plants and trees that can be classified as low risk or extinct and anywhere in between, just like animals. Sequoia trees are a good example. They require specific habitat conditions, are slow-growing, and have a shallow root system that can cause them to become uprooted easily. (Not to mention they were logged in the 1800’s.) Nowadays, plant seeds can be collected to ensure a backup is there in case we loose a species. Below is a list of tree and plant species and their statuses.
