Yes, in fact they are similar in many ways. They contain many of the same apparatus and both house a central nucleus. They are both filled with cytoplasm as well as golgi bodies, ribosomes and endoplasmic reticulum. One of the main differences is that plants have a more rigid outer wall than animal cells. THis is due to a cell wall which animal cells lack.
