Are animals from pet stores more susceptible to diseases?

Animals from pet stores are, in general, highly susceptible to diseases.  You really should avoid purchasing any animal at a pet store.  People who breed animals and CARE about the animals they breed would never just put their animals into a pet store where any person can go in and buy them.  Breeders who devote their lives to breeding, raising, and showing animals want to meet their customers face to face.  Those are the breeders who are knowledgeable and diligent in the work that they are doing.  Animals found in pet stores are from low quality breeders (ie puppymills) just trying to make a dollar.  Don’t support their actions by buying a pet from a pet store.
