Are the people of the hippie generation now green CEO’s and managers at companies?

Many well-known companies have self-professed environmentally-friendly liberals, or hippies, as the Chief Executive Officer. John Mackey, a libertarian, is the current CEO of Whole Foods Network; while he claims to be a skeptic of nationalized healthcare and global warming, practices green by driving a hybrid car and flying with commercial airlines. Though he is no longer CEO, Celestial Seasonings founder Mo Seigel founded his company on the claim that he and some friends started out by picking berries and leaves in his backyard. Finally, Ben and Jerry’s CEO Jostein Solheim has worked hard to keep his company localized in Burlington, Vermont, where the ice cream has always stood firmly on the idea of processing its product using raw, organic materials.
