Unfortunately the answer is yes. The genocide in Darfur, Sudan is one example of a fight for resources like water and arable land. As the effects of climate change get worse, and we use up the world’s supply of fresh water there will be more fighting, and possible open war for water. That is a worst case scenario, options do exist to prevent this future, such as desalination plants to turn salt water into drinking water.
