Are pellet stoves good for the environment?

Pellet stoves are not only cheaper, they are good for the environment too. “Most pellets are made from compressed waste sawdust from lumber mills. Depending on the area of the country, waste peanut shells or cherry pits also are used. Using this homegrown fuel not only reduces landfill waste, but it keeps jobs and energy dollars in the United States.”
