Are other countries trying to stop urban sprawl like the United States?

A lot of other countries don’t have as many issues with suburban sprawl as the United States. Many countries in Europe don’t have the expanse of land we do here and built cities in more condensed ways. This is why public transportation is more effective and efficient in Europe. Many other countries need to conserve the land they have for other uses, such as landfills and recreation areas. Canada has suburban sprawl issues, as well as some areas of Europe (though not as much as the U.S.).
