Are old fingernail clippings good for compost piles?

Although I couldn’t find a specific citation for this, I do think that because finger nails are a natural human by product that they should decompose just fine. Whether there is any benefit of putting them into compost is doubtful but I say go for it! Do you have a lot of old fingernail clippings sitting around? If so, I guess that recycling them into compost is better than throwing them out! Happy composting.
