are oil derricks bad for the environment?

what is their negative impact?

    Oil derricks are the structures above oil that extract the resource. Since oil wells can be notoriously destructive if the a rupture occurs and oil spills out into the surrounding environment, and since oil derricks are part of the entire operation, I would consider them to be bad for the environment.
