Are ocelots endangered?

Ocelots have been on the Endangered Species list since 1972. They’re valued for the fur, plus humans like to cut down their habitat for building, agriculture, and resources. Since they like densely forested areas, this presents a problem due to deforestation. They can be spotted as far north as Texas, but they’re generally found in Mexico and Central America.
