The answer seems to be mixed. In the US, the obesity rate looks like it has levelled off since 1999 across all age levels and races, but this definitely does not mean the level of obese children has gone down. Childhood obesity is still three times higher than in was in the 1970s. In England, although it may be levelling off in wealthier households, it is still a growing problem in more disadvantaed households.
