The new smokeless cigarettes are certainly better for the environment than traditional cigarettes. According to a recent study, e-cigarettes produce 100x less toxic chemicals than regular cigarettes. They also emit none of 70 toxic chemicals emitted by regular cigarettes. Electronic cigarettes don’t produce smoke (some produce water vapor), so that is less pollution going into the environment. There is also less packaging that is discarded as they are reusable. Obviously, if you can get away with not smoking at all, its best for the environment, but if you have to choose, electronic cigarettes are indeed better.
It is definitely the best for the environment. However, the question is, is it actually effective. I have seen numerous people try to use the electric cigarettes without any success. The only real way to go is cold turkey and just stop completely one day. It has worked for a number of my friends and family.
Yes they are a lot better for the environment. However, they are not allowed to be marketed as “smoking cessation” devices. The jury is still out on that one. I have some friends who used to smoke, and now only smoke electric cigarettes. They are still addicted to the nicotine, but it has helped them stop inhaling smoke and all the chemicals that are in the smoke. The e cigs are mostly water vapor so yea, very green pretty much 🙂 There is even a company called green smoke, which you can find a review of at the site below.
So if they are still inhaling the nicotine how are they better for their health. I understand that the tar and some of the other chemicals are gone but isn’t the purpose to get them to quit smoking? Can you slowly reduce the amount of nicotine they are inhaling? Thanks.
