Natural disasters can be nature’s way of correcting itself. Forest fires actually help plant growth in the long run, and earthquakes are the result of a discharge of energy built up along a fault. Monsoons bring water to much needed areas and the animals in those areas have adepted to expect droughts followed by floods. The main reason these natural occurances become disasters is because of the civilizations that have been built in the affected areas. Without the destruction of our homes and losing people’s lives, these events wouldn’t be considered disasters in the first place. So to answer if it’s “important”, that is up for debate.
