Are moth balls bad for the environment?

Moth balls are made from two components naphthalene and paradichlorobenzine. Both chemicals evaporate into the the atmosphere. Naphthalene is broken down by sunlight within 1 day, and is also broken down by bacteria. Paradichlorobenzine is hazardous to aquatic organisms and can accumulate in fish. So, don’t flush you moth balls down the toilet and we should be alright.
