I don’t know that it’s safe to say that “most” turtles are endangered or threatened. Certainly, the Asian turtles that lfw2887 mentioned are in danger — as are most sea turtles — and together these do account for a significant portion of turtles. There are also other species spread around the globe which are in trouble. However, I’ve never come across evidence that turtles, on the whole, are endangered. Unlike amphibians, for example, which seem to be suffering worldwide declines. A fair number of turtle populations are also doing just fine.
