No. I grew up in California and Arizona and when I visited back east, I didn’t know what all the tanks were that were on top of the buildings. Gravity fed systems seem to only exist in high rise buildings. For single story homes, which make up the majority of the buildings in America, water systems are not gravity fed.
I lived in a small subdivision in California where the water system was gravity fed. There was a large tank that was higher than any of the houses and the pressure from the gravity fed all the homes. Still today my shower had more pressure growing up than any other home I have been in.
