For now it seems they’re moving towards it. This is because nuclear is the cheapest alternative low emission energy source. The US recently announced to build two more nuclear plants in Burke, Georgia. Other nations are investing money in nuclear to counterbalance their dependency on foreign oil. But still fully renewable green power plants are growing at a rapid rate, but considering their low cost/benefit ratio it is not surprising to see that they aren’t taking over the energy market yet. Until this happens rich nations try to meet demands in any other way than the use of foreign oil.
