Being struck by lightning is far more common than getting attacked by a mountain lion. The chances of being killed by lightning is 1 in 700,000 while the chances of being killed by a mountain lion is about 1 in 32,000,000. To put it in perspective, getting stuck by lightning is about as likely to a royal flush in poker. The chances of a mountain lion attack is about as likely as winning $1,000 in McDonald’s’ Monolopy game. Mountain lion attacks are even a little bit less likely than an attack by a shark.
