Are more conflicts over natural gas pipelines in Eastern Europe likely to occur?

The Russian-Ukrainian disputes do have a history. They started in 2005, stopped in 2006, resumed in 2007, and continued through 2009. The recent presidential elections in Ukraine resulted in a pro-russian candidate winning, so it is likely that the conflict will be resolved for some time in Russia’s favor. On the other hand, the Orange Revolution during previous election did bring a pro-western president into power after he lost in an election whose results believed to be falsified. That was followed by years of rather unstable government. So nobody knows what will happen next.
