Are moles different than gophers?

Both are considered pests but there are some differences. Gophers are larger than moles; Gophers tend to be the size of a small squirrel while moles usually are hardly bigger than your thumb. Both tunnel through the ground, but given their size, Gopher tunnels are larger. Moles prefer moister tunneling conditions than Gophers. Gophers will also destroy vegetation while moles are carnivorous and will only eat grubs and worms.
