Mako sharks are simply faster than great whites. Some can swim up to 60 mph and jump out of the water for attacks. However, their much bigger brothers, the great white sharks are still the ones to watch out for. Mako sharks may be faster but “only with respect to lateral forward motion, whereas the Great White is the fastest eater.”
