Tigers are far more endangered. Estimates put the population of tigers (Bengal and Indochinese) just over 3,000 animals in the wild. There numbers continue to shrink as poachers and human encroachment continues. Lions however are far less threatened, thought still in danger. Since their gassy homelands have not been taken over by their human counterparts quite as quickly, most estimate there to be between 20,000 and 30,000 African lions left in the wild.
