Yes, they have terrible gas mileage and are not always filled to capacity with passengers. The MPG ratings for limos is not easy to find, but here are a few facts that will put it in perspectave. The 2005 cadillac limo should get an average of 16MPG with city and highway combined. While some popular limos are hummers, and the average H2 fuel economy is between 8.6 and 12MPG, you can imagine that doubling the length and widening the wheel base, only making the car heavier and less aerodynamic would greatly decrease the limo. I guess that is why it costs upwards of $150 a day to rent a limo.
